Post Set-up production reflection evidence

Production Set-Up Reflection

Production Set-Up Reflection

Evidence of setting up camera equipment

Health and safety
In this video I above, I am explaining the health and safety issues that may occur when filming in this certain location. Some other health and safety issues that may occur could be:
- The ground could be muddy so we could potentially slip and hurt ourselves.
- Because of our chosen location there are lots of trees and because they are low down, they      could hit us in the face when filming.
- If it were to start raining, that could damage our equipment. Due to UK weather it is most likely that it will rain and there may be strong winds that could knock over our equipment.

Location
I am walking to the location of where our film is set. We chose this location for our film because it is the most similar location to our script and storyboard. The location we chose was also a good choice as it is close by to us and we wouldn't have to travel anywhere far.

Planning Material
Here I am looking at the shooting script and checking which scenes need to be filmed.  I was able to check how long scene should be so we did not go over time.  However, the sheet was not printed clearly and it was  struggle to read.

In this photo I am looking at the script and finding out what we need to film and what characters and props will be included, as well as the lines that should be said. A strength that I had was that I was able to identify what certain scenes I had to do and what my lines were.

I am also checking the story board that I was in charge of and looking at the scenes and what should not be missing. A strength that I had was that I was able to refer back to the storyboard to see what exact scene I am supposed to do.

Strengths: Some strengths that I had was that I was prepared with my equipment and necessary information such as storyboard, script and shooting script.

Weaknesses: I had a little trouble with setting up the camera on the tripod, but I managed to work it. However, this is something I can improve on. Another weakness that occurred was dressing appropirately for the weather. I should have checked the weather forecast before hand so I would not be too cold. This could have affected my acting as I would be too cold.

In this video I am setting up the camera and tripod for filming.

Location recce

Location Recce

 Hainult Forest: (Main place)

It's be easy to film in since it's accessible. It's something where all of us will be able to go to. The lighting is great because it can be dark swell because of the shadows. When we go in a gloomy scene we can use the shadows for help to set the scene. This is great since we will have a variety of lighting. There is also so much space in the forest with some greenery. This location is creative since not many horror films have a forest as their main source of location. It matches well since it's eery and you don't know whats out there. This shows us that in the film you don't know what will happen next so this will contrast to that. The place where will be filming will be fine. Since it's free to go to and we're allowed to film. We have free access to this place. As a backup option we will go to Fairlop waters, this is because it's similar to Hainult forest. They both have trees, and it's easy accessible.

House:

A house is very easy to film in since it's available to use at anytime. Since it's one of the persons group house, it'll always be available. We are able to use any equipment in the house as well, so we wouldn't have to waste that much money. Also we have curtains to make the lighting more or less. This is creative since we are able to add stuff and use our creative minds to make things work out. Since a household has many items, we can use the items to change how the location looks. It has multiple items which we are able to use as props. As the backup location we can use either Harleen or Yunus's house which is similar to Milhan's house. This is because the location also has curtains, props and rooms.

School:

School is very easy to film in since it's available to use at anytime. Anything we want we are able to use it. We are accessed with any options whether to go outside or stay inside. We can change the lighting how ever we want, because we are accessed to redhead lights. This means that we are able to change how the lighting looks. The location is creative since we are able to make the room look like other locations. E.g the media room we can act like that's a jail room and an office. Backup location is someones house since we can manipulate the rooms to look like something else. By using the school we are able to manipulate it to make the room look like something else. We can get props for our house and make it look like a office etc. As a backup location we can use Yunus's house since it's a similar location  since he has a office.

Outside:

Since we will be going outside, we can film in front of the police station. Or anywhere, we are able to go too. The outside area will be here in chadwell heath since there is loads of locations which will be situable for our film. This means that we can change locations in the area and  find a suitable place for each of the different scenes. This is creative since it's close by and we can change locations as Ive pointed out before. Also we are able to see the weather on the weather app and use it to determine whether it want it to be gloomy or sunny. As a backup location we will use a outside but a different location outside. Such as the area Barkingside since they have similar places like Chadwell heath. A police station, park and much more.

Evidence of saving, rendering, exporting and the opening sequence

Saving.

In the image above it clearly shows us that we have are saving the drafts for the opening sequence once we have finished all the editing in the film.

Rendering.

In the image above shows us that rendering has occurred. This is part of the editing stage of the post production.

Exporting.

Once we were happy with the ending result of the opening sequence, we were then able to export this into a video and able to upload it so that everyone can have access to it.

Evidence of applying filters, transitions and effects to enhance meaning

Applying filters

Above is an image of using filters to change the opening sequence to attract more people for the target audience. This will keep the audience engaged with the sequence and enjoy it even more.

Transitions

Above is an image that shows how we used to jump from scene to scene. This made the opening sequence quick and easy to follow.

Enhance meaning

Above is an image that shows how we added more effects to enhance the meaning of the opening sequence. For example the image has text in the beginning of the clip that shows the title of the SkinWalker. This attracts the audience as they are intrigued as what is going to happen next.

Health and safety Information/Evidence

Below is evidence of health and safety information and evidence that we used before we filmed.

Exporting product in suitable file format

This is an image to show the Skin-walker in a suitable format.

Codes and conventions

 Codes & Conventions 1

The sound effects used is a code\conventions. This confirms that this is a thriller genre, and helps create various moods for the audiences to experience these different moods. At 1:19 the music used, gives a sense of thrill and suspense to the audience, along with the scene that is shown. Overall this gives an eerie vibe to the audience and will intrigue them to want to continue watching it.

Codes & Conventions 2

The listing was quite bright as we were outside. But once my character entered the 'forest' at 01:04 in the opening sequence, the lighting seemed more dim and this helped create a mysterious yet suspenseful outcome.

Codes & Conventions 3

The editing that has been done includes, flashes, transitions, black outs with bits of description and added sound effects. These all create a great impact on the finished piece, and attracts the audience with the overall piece.
