 Sound Effects Board Blog

Breathing/panting

For the beginning of our movie, there will be two FBI's running/chasing an escaped convict. This sound effect goes perfectly well with this scene as we will be running and it will show us breathing and panting heavily, which helps make it look more realistic.

Wind

This sound effect will be used quite a bit in the movie. This indicates that we are outside and will help give a more realistic setting. This effect will also give an eerie feeling towards the audience as wind can sometimes feel unsettling.

Gun shots

Gun shot sounds will be used maybe once or twice by one of the FBI's who spots the convict. Using this sound will help make the scene feel more real and thrilling, as the audience will be left wondering whether the convict was shot or not.

Heart beating

The heart beat sound effect will be used for when one of the FBI's sense something is wrong around them. In this part of the scene, the Skin-walker is close and the FBI senses them close by. Their heart pace starts to quicken until suddenly their vision goes blurry then all dark.

Crows

Crows in general symbolise 'Transformation' and 'Change'. The crows sound effect will start to surround the FBI and Skin-walker as the Skin-walker slowly starts to take over the FBI's mind. This will later be understood as we see a change in the FBI who has a spell on them.

Baby cry/baby rattle

The baby sounds and baby rattle will be used to lure the FBI to the Skin-walker once the FBI and their team mate get separated. It is then when the FBI starts to feel something is off and unsettling. This also leaves the audience feeling creeped out and confused as to why there would be a baby in a forest in the first place.

Giggling

Giggling will be heard from a distance at different times of the beginning to give a creepy feeling towards the audience. This sound also indicates that the Skin-walker is near by, so in simpler words its more of a warning sound to alert those who are in danger.
